Many years ago I started telling myself my “job” was to be aware, not to fill spreadsheets, and to feel that awareness I needed to spend each day feeling my body on daily walks. Feeling my feelings rather than thinking about them. To spend time living rather than documenting average business’. Communicating rather than crying, and my body was filled with love, rather than dreaming of love.
I used to spend hours at the gym and hours overtime at work and thousands of dollars on friendships just to be feeling “leftover” however, the connection with myself was absolutely gorgeous, and there was no moment wasted because I became a mirror for myself.
So, yes I was in a training camp and every single trauma, heart break, friendship that felt half hearted was only a step closer to creator, closer to an opportunity to open the heart.
For me, it is not just about doing the work but also about staying in the light and the best way you can do that is to have boundaries as strong as your kindness.
We can stay open by the medicines that teach and heal us!
In turbulent years, I often subscribed to the following 4 truths.
- We live in a positive universe
- Everything is temporary, the current state is a boot camp for something greater that I cannot yet see.
- have routine, as much of a challenge as it is, come back to center and find routine.
- Pray, as much as I possibly can. There is a ceremony in everything as long as I look.
I speak this one last, but it is really because it comes first, every day, every moment, prayer that’s because it is our indigenous law. To share my definition of prayer, that might help the readers. For me it means to be connected with the land, my divine self. It helps our heart to connect with the land, it helps our heart connect with the honeybees and our hands reconnect with the water. If it has been a while since you have prayed, I offer you today to try to hum or sing in the shower. Water, air, movement, passion as fire. I have a little stone in my shower for earth energies.
There are a few offerings that cost absolutely nothing, and fuel you with everything. A quote I heard recently helps describe how ceremony helps, bring our spirit world and our natural world into motion again.
“Art is how we decorate space; music is how we decorate time.”
This practice of tuning into the other worlds offers us to open up to ourselves that may be starved.
We are beautiful beings, and we deserve to feed ourselves, nourish ourselves on all fronts. Since, we meet others in each daily interaction, work, appointments, common interests, each time we look upon another, we share energy. My best offering for anyone is to remain neutral. If they keep reappearing in your mind, simply tune in to your own energy and do a body scan. Notice how it makes you feel.
Remind yourself that they are on their own journey and we are in a positive universe. A rule of thumb is simply to have higher boundaries than your kindness, and to have a mindset of love. What an elder taught me, if you are ever at a crossroads if you need to “teach someone a lesson” is that we are a dying race, and it is the human race, so be kind, be loving and always treat everyone with kindness. Sometimes we can love someone but its simply from a far. You will never lose from being in the light, you are also so guided and so protected.
When you have days full of challenges, protect yourself with healing teas and waters. Try to stay away from sodas or sparkling beverages, alcoholic drinks. They simply lower your vibrational state. Try a mint drink. Or something light.
Mid Day, Wash your hands with salt and rosemary. Cleanse the face with castor oil and rose oil, aloe. This will keep your skin barrier strong as well as ridding any spiritual attacks. Take a moment and create your foot soak.
Foot Soak:
Use Metal or Copper Bucket (NOT PLASTIC)
In a separate bowl, add 1 handful of magnesium flakes, equal part of baking soda, 15 drops of rose + eucalyptus or cedar essential oil. Add sprinkle of cinnamon power Add Hotwater for your tempature in bucket. I prefer to sit outside, but sit anywhere you are comfortable. Try to remain screen free for the 20 minutes.
Read your favourite quotes, prayers or music out loud/or in your head while walking in the yard or park, forget about your pride/ get in the zone, see how you feel while listening to your heart instead of your mind. Did you find a new tree or flower?
Maybe you will cry, or laugh but when your soul comes back to your body in trying times. There is nothing, no one, who can take that peace from you. Make this, if anything your routine, to drink water and to make space to spend time in the forest/garden, whatever that means to you, creating new neurons that you have time and space for you is quite beneficial.
Before bed, place a bowl of salt beside your bedside table. Replace and continue for 7-10 days. Chart each night how you feel. Happy Healing and protection xx
